Who we are
The Citrix Startup Accelerator is the enterprise accelerator. We are part of Citrix Labs, an applied research group charged with helping Citrix adapt to new technology trends. As part of this group, we have a unique approach to investing in early stage companies. Our goals are to:
- Invest in top enterprise startups with new approaches to today’s problems, and foster independently successful companies with strong market validation
- Contribute to the emergence of new customer solutions
- Bring an open innovation focus to the practice of corporate early stage investment

John McIntyre is the Managing Director of the Citrix Startup Accelerator leading the team pioneering open innovation through early stage investments and market validation. John’s career has been characterized by spearheading innovative programs that bring new products to market, develop new markets, and create ecosystems that link entrepreneurs, investors, and mentors internationally.
Prior to joining Citrix, John ran the Enterprise Ireland team chartered with driving market momentum for Irish software, services, and technology companies in the North American marketplace. He co-founded InnerWorkings, a software company that raised over $10 million of venture financing. Earlier in his career, John spent 13 years at Intel Corporation where, in his last position as Director of Business Development, he partnered closely with Intel Capital to fund emerging technology and software companies.
Dr. Michael Harries
Chief Technologist (and Senior Director Citrix CTO Office)
Dr. Michael Harries is charged with identifying and coaching interesting early stage companies that bring new insights to Citrix related markets. He is a member of the Citrix CTO Office, and works with Citrix leaders on new trends and opportunities. Michael has over 20 years of software leadership, including 10 years as part of the leadership team at Citrix Labs, with a focus on technology strategy and communication.
Prior to joining Citrix, Michael was part of the leadership teams for several Australian software startups, including his own, applying machine learning technologies to various real world domains. He has also been a computer consultant and academic. Michael has a PhD in Computer Science, specializing in Machine Learning from the University of NSW, Australia, and a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Sydney, Australia.
Marketing and Operations Manager
Devon Crews has helped companies to design and launch innovative products, integrate leading-edge technologies, build popular brands, and maximize new business opportunities. With 20 years of senior marketing leadership experience, she has produced promotional campaigns that have inspired millions of people to action. Devon directs Marketing and Operations to support the growth of the Citrix Startup Accelerator. She is responsible for building a community of entrepreneurial leaders, venture capitalists, seed investors, advisors, executives, clients and partners who share our vision to create a world where people can experience work and life in harmony. In addition, she integrates Citrix culture into the Startup Accelerator, ensuring an emphasis on the values of respect, integrity, innovation and fun.
Prior to joining Citrix, she was the CMO for Luminesa, and led successful initiatives for HP, Marvel Entertainment (now Disney), Wells Fargo, Tesla Motors, UBS, Audubon, Stanford University, IBM, and many other global corporations and Silicon Valley tech startups. Devon is a frequent expert speaker and guest columnist about innovation trends, business leadership, emerging media and mobile marketing. She spearheaded and served as president for Net Impact NorCal and The Corporate Responsibility Executives Forums. Devon holds an M.B.A. from Presidio School of Management, where she was part of the first graduating class and now serves on the Board of Directors. She also has a joint Bachelor of Science degree in Design and Computer Technology.
Vice President Citrix Labs & CTO Office Chair

As Chair of the Citrix CTO Office Martin Duursma guides the company’s technology strategy, and is responsible for evangelizing technology directions, trends and standards within Citrix. As VP Citrix Labs, he is chartered with conceiving and producing creative products, components and technologies as well he is responsible for external innovation through the Citrix Startup Accelerator program. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, and is a member of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
